What is Type ‘A’ or ‘B’ flowering ?
The avocado flowers have both functional male and female reproductive organs in the one flower (normally called “Bisexual” or “Perfect” ), but opens and closes twice over a two-day period:
For each Tree in their respective flowering period:
1 . the first day as a functional female (ready to be Pollinated)
2 . the next day as a functional male. (Releasing their Pollen)
Each opening stage only lasts about half a day as the table below shows.
